The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Hon. Sampson Ahi, on Friday, February 13, 2026, paid a working visit to Blue Skies Fruit Juice Company as part of efforts to deepen government engagement with key agro-processing firms.
The visit was aimed at giving the Minister and her team first-hand insight into the company’s operations and to explore how Blue Skies’ activities could further align with the Government’s industrialization agenda, including value addition, job creation and export development.
Welcoming the delegation, the Head of Communications at Blue Skies Ghana, Mr. Alistair Djimatey briefed the Minister on the company’s operations and growth. He described Blue Skies Ghana as a leading fruit processing company headquartered in Dobro, near Nsawam, established in 1997 by Mr. Anthony Pile.
Mr. Djimatey noted that the company is widely recognized for its “Adding Value at Source” philosophy, which focuses on processing fresh fruit locally in Ghana rather than exporting raw produce for processing abroad.
He further highlighted the range of fruits processed by the company and the export markets served, explaining that Blue Skies continues to contribute significantly to Ghana’s
agro-processing value chain.
He revealed that Blue Skies Ghana has received several prestigious awards over the years in recognition of its excellence in fruit processing, quality standards, and commitment to value addition at source.
Following the briefing, the Minister and her team toured the factory and observed the various stages of production, including handling, processing, and packaging.
The Minister later interacted with workers on the production floor and commended them for their dedication and contribution to the growth of Ghana’s manufacturing and agro-processing sector.
As part of the working visit, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare also visited the company’s farm in the Eastern Region to gain a broader appreciation of its supply chain and sourcing processes.
The Minister further took the opportunity to visit Nyonkodor Farms, a Ghanaian-based agricultural company engaged in the supply, export, and wholesale of agricultural produce and food and beverage products.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare reiterated Government’s commitment to supporting value addition to agricultural produce, stressing that agro-processing remains a key pillar in the country’s industrial transformation agenda and export-led growth strategy.
