The 2025 edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair has been officially launched under the theme “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy.”
The event, organised by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), in partnership with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), was held at the Volta Star Textiles Limited, Juapong, on August 25, 2025, to raise awareness for the main fair, scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 8, 2025.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Administration and Operations at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh, reaffirmed GEPA’s commitment to supporting the initiative.
He assured participants that GEPA remained open to businesses and investors eager to explore opportunities through the platform, promising continued collaboration to make the fair impactful and successful.
“The world is waiting for what Ghana has to offer. Your palm oil, your fruits and vegetables, your textiles, your handicrafts, your processed foods, your innovative solutions , they all have a place in the global marketplace. To our international partners and potential investors, I extend Ghana’s warm invitation to explore the abundant opportunities that the Volta Region and indeed all of Ghana has to offer. You will find here not just products and services, but reliable partnerships built on integrity, quality, and mutual respect”
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, highlighted the symbolic choice of Volta Star Textiles as the launch venue, noting that the site reflects the region’s industrial heritage and future aspirations. He positioned this year’s Fair within the framework of President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy Policy, designed to stimulate industrial growth, create over 1.7 million jobs, and transform Ghana into a competitive, round-the-clock economy.
For the Volta Region, he proposed the revival of Volta Star Textiles Limited at Juapong and the establishment of a 24-hour industrial park in Adaklu to serve as a manufacturing, logistics, and export hub.
Hon. Gunu emphasized the importance of global partnerships, capital inflows, and technology transfer in achieving the government’s vision of creating jobs for Ghanaians.
The Head of the Event Planning Committee, Fred Avornyo, acknowledged youth unemployment as a pressing challenge, describing the Fair as a practical vehicle for attracting investment into tourism, agribusiness, manufacturing, creative industries, education, and hospitality.
He called on the Government of Ghana to leverage the Volta Region’s strategic position with the potential to serve as a launchpad into the West African market of more than 400 million people.
This year’s Volta Industry and Investment Fair offers new features, such as B2B sessions as well as exhibitions in agribusiness, ICT, creative industries, education, energy and tourism.
