Angela Barnes, co-founder and General Manager of Agro Kings, producers of Nana’s Rice, has praised the Channel One TV AgriFair for enhancing agribusiness visibility, boosting sales, and fostering industry collaboration.
The inaugural fair, held in June 2025 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, brought together farmers, agribusinesses, and agro-support services.
Following its success, the second edition of the AgriFair is scheduled from Friday, November 28, to Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the same venue.
Marketed as Ghana’s biggest exhibition and sale of fresh farm produce, it will run daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free entry.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, November 27, 2025, ahead of the second edition, Madam Barnes described the company’s experience at the first fair as highly rewarding.
“It was amazing. Any time I have an opportunity to interview on Citi FM for anything, I keep saying that anytime Citi FM organises a fair, the question is not ‘why aren’t you coming?’ The real question is ‘why wouldn’t I go?’” she said.
She explained that the fair gave Agro Kings a chance to step away from routine operations and engage directly with consumers, fellow agribusinesses, and industry stakeholders.
“As a company, we like to have fun. We love to interact with our direct customers and get feedback from them. We also use these platforms to get to know our fellow service providers. We are always on our little farms by ourselves, so fairs such as this give us the opportunity to come out, see others, and share our challenges and successes,” she noted.
Madam Barnes added that the AgriFair also delivered strong sales outcomes, exceeding expectations.
“AgriFair, in particular, is a good platform. We often do activations to boost sales because traditional sales sometimes do not go the way you expect. But AgriFair was quite surprising. The sales were good,” she said, highlighting Nana’s Rice and the company’s cereal mix as standout products, aided by onsite tasting sessions.
Looking ahead to the second edition, she confirmed that Agro Kings would showcase its full product range.
“We are bringing all our products. This time around, we are not leaving anything behind. Look out for our rice, cereals, cashew products, and some vegetables as well. We will also bring some processed livestock,” she stated.
A major feature of the fair is the AgriFair Training Clinics, offering hands-on guidance on best farming practices. Head of Events and Partnerships at Citi FM/Channel One TV, Frema Adunyame, emphasised the importance of these sessions.
“This time around, we are focusing on snail farming, fish farming, poultry, and piggery, so we have these clinics on Saturday and Sunday. It is for everyone, regardless of your status and who you are. If you are now thinking of going into farming, it is for you.
“If you are in farming already, it is for you. If you are looking to cut down on the money you spend buying produce, this is for you.
“If you are not going to practice it, get to know so when you get to the market you can see the different types of snails, fish, and all. Expect to get quality tutorials from experts,” she said.
