The 2nd Ghana Agrochemical & Crop Protection Exhibitions & Awards (GACA) kicks off today at the Techiman Community Center in the Bono East Region.
Organized by Agrihouse Foundation, the two-day event, running from Thursday, March 27, to Friday, March 28, 2025, will convene farmers, input dealers, agribusinesses, policymakers, and key stakeholders to tackle pre-planting challenges and advance sustainable farming practices.
This year’s event being held under the theme “Sustaining the Climate and Environment – The Role of Input Dealers.” underscores the urgent need for input dealers and farmers to adopt environmentally friendly and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
With climate change posing a growing threat to food security, the event will explore how input dealers can play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable crop protection methods, responsible agrochemical use, and innovative solutions that protect both the environment and farmers’ livelihoods.
Speaking ahead of the event, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, outlined what participants can expect over the next two days.
“For the next two days, farmers will have access to expert-led training sessions, hands-on product demonstrations, and in-depth discussions on best farming practices. This is not just an exhibition; it’s an opportunity for farmers to ask critical questions, compare input options, and discover the latest solutions that can enhance their productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability,“ she stated.
Farmers and agribusiness stakeholders attending the event can expect a vibrant mix of interactive exhibitions, expert-led panel discussions, business networking opportunities, and specialized training sessions.
The event will also provide a platform for policymakers and industry leaders to engage with farmers on how to implement climate-friendly agricultural solutions that ensure long-term sustainability.
