NAFAGRO2026: The Value Sunyani Offers to Businesses Partaking in This Year’s Farmers’ Day Exhibitions

The selection of Bono Regional capital, Sunyani by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to host the 42nd National Farmers’ Day and Food and Agricultural Trade Fair (NAFAGRO), is underpinned by the region’s agricultural significance and the opportunities it presents for the sector.

For businesses and organizations operating across the agricultural value chain, Sunyani offers a practical reason to be present: it puts exhibitors closer to one of Ghana’s important agricultural production centers and creates a setting where products, services, technologies and business ideas can meet the people who use, produce, finance and support them.

The 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebration will take place from Monday November 30 to Friday December 4, 2026, under the theme “Our Farmers, Our Food, and Our Future.”

The exhibition component of the fair is to bring together all value chain actors to mark Ghana’s agricultural progress. For agricultural businesses considering whether to exhibit, the location itself deserves attention, as it offers value for the entire agricultural community.

Sunyani sits within a region where agriculture is a business reality

Bono is widely recognized as an important food-producing region, with agriculture remaining a major part of its economy. The region produces a wide range of food and tree crops, including maize, cassava, plantain, yam, cocoa, cashew, mango and other crops. Its poultry and livestock activities also form an important part of the agricultural economy.

The scale of production creates demand for much more than farm inputs, and that makes Sunyani more than a location for a national celebration. It is a place where different parts of the agricultural economy can meet around actual production needs.

Farmers need improved seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, machinery, irrigation solutions, storage and transportation services. Poultry and livestock producers require feed, animal-health products, equipment, finance and technical services. Processors need reliable raw materials, packaging, machinery and markets. Financial institutions need viable agricultural businesses to serve, while technology providers need producers who can put their solutions into practice.

Bono’s production creates opportunities beyond the farm

Recent agricultural data from the region illustrates the scale of the opportunity. The Bono Regional Directorate of Agriculture is targeting 1.2 million metric tonnes of maize production in the 2026 crop season, with Wenchi, Sunyani West and Tain identified among the major maize-producing areas.

The region also has a strong poultry base. The Bono Regional Coordinating Council identifies poultry production as a major investment opportunity, with large-scale production concentrated in areas including Dormaa and Sunyani West.

Tree crops present another significant opportunity. The Bono Regional Minister recently described the region as having considerable potential in cashew, cocoa, coconut and oil palm, while the opening of a Tree Crops Development Authority regional office in Sunyani is expected to support registration, licensing, traceability and other activities within the sector.

These activities point to a larger commercial picture, affirming that agriculture in Bono is not limited to farmers selling raw produce. It supports a chain of input suppliers, aggregators, processors, traders, transporters, financial institutions, technology providers and service companies.

For an input company, Sunyani provides an opportunity to put products directly before producers and agricultural businesses.

For machinery and technology companies, it offers a platform to demonstrate what their solutions can do for farmers and processors.

For banks and financial institutions, it provides an opportunity to engage agricultural enterprises that require working capital, equipment finance, savings products, insurance and other financial services.

For processors and food companies, it can be a place to identify suppliers, understand production areas and explore commercial relationships.

For development organisations, government agencies and agricultural service providers, the exhibition provides an avenue to explain programmes and services directly to the people and businesses they are designed to support.

And for established agribusinesses looking to expand, being physically present can make it easier to identify opportunities that are difficult to see from a distance.

NAFAGRO brings the wider agricultural value chain into focus

One of the strengths of exhibiting at NAFAGRO 2026 is the diversity of people it brings into one environment.

A farmer may be looking for a better production input.

A processor may be searching for equipment.

An agribusiness may be seeking finance.

A young entrepreneur may be looking for a technology solution.

A distributor may be searching for a new product line.

A farmer-based Organisation may be looking for partners.

A service provider may be looking for new markets.

These are not abstract opportunities. They are the everyday transactions and relationships that determine whether agricultural businesses can produce more efficiently, reach markets and grow.

The exhibition therefore gives participating organisations an opportunity to demonstrate, explain, sell, source, learn and identify potential business relationships in one location.

For value-chain actors looking to enter new markets, reach agricultural businesses, demonstrate products, build commercial relationships or explore opportunities in one of Ghana’s major food-producing regions, Sunyani is a destination worth considering.

Do not miss your chance to position your company at the center of Ghana’s biggest agricultural trade event.

Subscribe to exhibit and put your business where agriculture, enterprise and opportunity meet.

Book your exhibition space today by calling 0244623012 or 0551623862. Or send an email to [email protected]
