The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon.Francis Owusu Antwi, has called for increased stakeholder participation and sponsorship support for the 3rd edition of the Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards (GACA), scheduled for 5th to 6th May 2026 at the Bonokyempem Hall in Techiman.
The initiative ,organised by Agrihouse Foundation in collaboration with the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, as part of ongoing efforts to improve agricultural productivity and enhance farmers’ access to quality inputs ahead of the planting season.
In a statement, the Minister noted that over the past two years, the interventional initiative has become a strong platform connecting key actors in the agricultural input value chain. These include fertilizer manufacturers, seed producers, irrigation service providers, and other agribusiness stakeholders who engage directly with farmers across the Bono East Region to promote knowledge sharing, adoption of improved inputs, and increased productivity which has strengthened extension service delivery, improved farmers’ decision-making, and helped bridge the gap between input suppliers and farming communities.
The Minister further emphasized that the Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards (GACA) continues to position the Bono East Region as a hub for agricultural innovation and stakeholder engagement, while contributing to national efforts to strengthen food security and build resilient food systems. He stressed that these achievements underscore the need to sustain and expand the programme.
According to him, continued sponsorship support is critical to scaling up the initiative’s impact. He explained that increased investment will enable organisers to reach more farmers, expand training and capacity-building sessions, and deepen practical interventions that improve agricultural outcomes and also ensure the continuity of innovative activities that enhance the event each year.
Outlining this year’s programme, Hon. Owusu Antwi disclosed that the 3rd edition will go beyond exhibitions to deliver targeted interventions, including a Farmer Crop Clinic, discounted agricultural input sales, a Youth in Input Dealership Capacity Building Session, and a Farmer-to-Buyer training session to strengthen market linkages.
He concluded by urging stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem including input suppliers, machinery providers, and service operators to actively participate in the two-day event, and use the platform to build partnerships, share expertise, and explore opportunities for sustainable growth in the sector.
