Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon,Hon. John Dumelo will serve as a keynote “Call to Action” speaker at this year’s 8th Gathering of the Royals.
The event, scheduled for March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, will see the Deputy Minister join over 600 Queen Mothers, traditional leaders, and Market Queens to discuss the critical theme: “Seeds of Change: From Leadership to Legacy – Women Transforming the Agrifood Systems.”
The event, which will convene over 600 Queen mothers, Market Queens, policymakers, business executives, and youth representatives from across Ghana, is expected to focus on leadership, development, and the role of cultural institutions in national agri-food systems.
Hon. John Dumelo brings a unique perspective to this year’s Gathering of the Royals, blending his legislative responsibilities with his well-known passion for active farming and constant advocacy for the modernization of Ghana’s agricultural landscape.
His dual role as a legislator and a practitioner allows him to connect high-level government initiatives with the grassroots realities faced by farmers across the country.

In Parliament, his service on the Gender, Children and Social Welfare Committee further aligns with the mission of the Gathering of the Royals to empower women and vulnerable groups within the value chain.
As a key architect of the Feed Ghana Programme, the Deputy Minister has been instrumental in driving initiatives that enhance national food security and create sustainable jobs.
Dumelo’s keynote is expected to spotlight the critical role of agriculture in driving economic growth and tackling youth unemployment. Known for his strong advocacy for agribusiness and youth participation, his participation would call for a shift in mindset positioning agriculture as a modern, profitable, and innovative sector.
The Deputy Agric Minister’s address is featured on the Call to Action segment of the event. The Call to Action is designed to move beyond advocacy toward measurable policy and investment outcomes in the agricultural sector. It is a session of the program that seeks and ensures that discussions result in concrete impacts that strengthen livelihoods at the grassroots level and influence national agricultural discourse.
