The Director of the Presidential Initiative on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Dr. Peter Otokunor, has urged young Ghanaians to step up as visionary leaders and transformative forces in the agricultural sector, championing a new era powered by innovation, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose.
Dr. Otokunor made this passionate call during a high-impact mentorship session at the Office of the President Annex in Accra. The engagement formed part of activities marking the 8th Agricultural Students’ Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp (AG-STUD), an annual initiative organized by Agrihouse Foundation to inspire, train, and mentor agricultural students and young agripreneurs.
Speaking to the bootcampers ,He charged them to take ownership of their personal and professional journeys, emphasizing that their futures would be shaped by the daily choices they make. He also encouraged them to embrace resilience and focus, while building strong, positive relationships within the agricultural ecosystem.
“We need to build a new generation of change-makers,” He stated. “It takes effort, consistency, and the right networks. But make no mistake regardless of your background, your dream is valid.”
“Whatever you want to become is a product of the choices you make in life,” he noted. “Be consistent. Stay resilient. Surround yourself with people who inspire growth. And never look down on humble beginnings true greatness often rises from adversity.”
He further reminded them of their pivotal role in transforming Ghana’s agricultural future, calling on them to leverage technology, sustainability practices, and entrepreneurship to build resilient food systems.
