Dr. Ransford A. Abbey, Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has reiterated the Board’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and prosperous future for Ghana’s cocoa industry.
During a working visit to the Seed Production Division (SPD) and Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) in Breman District, Central Region, Dr. Abbey acknowledged the sector’s financial pressures but assured staff that targeted strategies are being implemented to stabilize operations and enhance employee welfare.
He called on all COCOBOD staff across divisions and subsidiaries to actively contribute to the organization’s vision, stressing that teamwork and efficient use of resources are critical to achieving the Board’s objectives.
Dr. Abbey also highlighted the negative impact of fertilizer smuggling on productivity and financial recovery, urging staff to ensure that inputs are used responsibly to support national cocoa production goals.
Accompanied by senior management and Hon. Alhassan Kobina Ghansah, Member of Parliament for Breman Asikuma and COCOBOD Board member, Dr. Abbey encouraged employees to remain dedicated to building a resilient and thriving cocoa sector for the future.
