Mama Fleashie Adorshie II, a distinguished traditional leader from the Weta Traditional Area in the Volta Region, is set to take center stage as a panelist at the upcoming 8th Gathering of the Royals.
The event, scheduled for March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, will bring together over 600 Queen Mothers, traditional leaders, and Market Queens from all 16 regions of Ghana. This year’s event centers on the powerful theme: “Seeds of Change: From Leadership to Legacy – Women Transforming the Agrifood Systems.”
A Leader Rooted in the Soil
While her title commands respect in the Weta Traditional Area, Mama Fleashie Adorshie II is equally recognized for her hands-on dedication to the land. As a passionate farmer, she has become a vital pillar of food security within her community. Her current agricultural footprint includes: 4 acres of rice farm, 2 acres of maize farm and 3 acres of cassava farm.
Through these efforts, she is not only contributing to local food systems but also creating sustainable livelihoods and proving that traditional leadership can be a proactive force for economic development.

During the panel discussion, Mama Fleashie Adorshie II will share her personal farming journey, offering a unique perspective on how traditional authority can be leveraged to drive agricultural innovation. Her participation underscores the growing influence of women in the “blue and green” economies, highlighting how female leaders are moving beyond ceremonial roles to become active agents of change in the agrifood sector.
The Gathering of the Royals continue to serve as a strategic platform for these influential women to exchange ideas, address challenges within the value chain, and formalize their roles as mentors for the next generation of youth in agriculture.
As the countdown to March 31 begins, the inclusion of practitioners like Mama Fleashie Adorshie II ensures that the dialogue will stay grounded in the realities of the field, merging royal influence with the practical grit of Ghanaian farming.
