The Manager of Sino Machinery Ghana Limited, Johnny Zhang, has called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to drive sustainable transformation in Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Delivering a speech at the 8th Gathering of the Royals in Accra industry, Mr. Zhang emphasized the need to move beyond intentions and embrace collective action to address challenges within the agricultural value chain.

“If we are truly to plant seeds of change, we must go beyond intention and move into collective action,” he stated.
He urged government institutions, agribusiness leaders, and development organizations to work together to strengthen agricultural infrastructure, improve logistics, and implement systems that deliver measurable results.
According to him, the future of agriculture will depend not only on effort but also on partnership, innovation, and effective execution.

Mr. Zhang highlighted infrastructure and logistics as critical components in advancing agricultural productivity. While agriculture remains the backbone of many economies, he noted that inefficiencies in transportation and access continue to limit the sector’s full potential.
He identified key challenges, including difficulty in accessing remote farmlands, transporting inputs such as fertilizers and equipment, and delivering produce to markets in a timely and safe manner.
“Without reliable logistics, even the best agricultural efforts cannot reach their full value,” he stressed.
Speaking on the role of mechanization, Mr. Zhang explained that machinery plays a vital role in bridging the gap between production and market access. He said equipment should not be seen merely as tools, but as enablers of efficiency and growth.
At Sinotrak, he noted, the focus has been on providing durable, high-performance trucks capable of operating under demanding agricultural conditions, including rough terrains, heavy loads, and long-distance transportation.
He added that the right machinery can significantly reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access, and enhance overall productivity for farmers and agribusinesses.

Mr. Zhang reaffirmed Sinotrak’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s agricultural sector through quality service and reliable machinery solutions. He noted that the company’s trucks have played a key role in strengthening supply chains and improving the movement of goods across the agricultural value chain.
He described the company’s recent recognition as not just an achievement, but a reflection of its ongoing dedication to supporting farmers and stakeholders contributing to national development.
