Agrihouse Foundation and its sister organization AgriwatchGH have unveiled a theme song for their newly launched public interest programme, “At the Table with Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa,” a platform dedicated to celebrating women farmers and farmers with disabilities across Ghana.
The theme song was created to honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of women farmers who play a vital role in sustaining the nation’s food systems.
Through powerful lyrics, the song captures the daily realities of women farmers who rise before sunrise, work tirelessly in the fields, and remain the backbone of agricultural production and food security.
The song describes women farmers as “the heart of the farm, the gold in the soil, and the seed and soul of agriculture,” highlighting their dedication to nurturing crops, families, and communities despite the many challenges they face.
According to Agrihouse Foundation, the theme song will be featured throughout the programme and during related outreach activities to inspire recognition and support for women farmers across the country.
The initiative also seeks to draw attention to the challenges women farmers face, including limited access to resources and recognition, while encouraging stakeholders to support their efforts in transforming Ghana’s agricultural sector.
“At the Table with Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa” is a 10–15 minute interview programme that travels across Ghana’s regions, giving women farmers and farmers with disabilities the opportunity to share their stories and contributions to food systems and national development.
Agrihouse Foundation hopes the theme song will inspire pride, recognition, and greater appreciation for women who continue to shape the future of agriculture through their courage, determination, and leadership.
