Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, has urged agric students and beginner agribusinesses participating in this year’s Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue bootcamp to prioritize networking among themselves, as they learn from the resource persons available.
She said networking is a fundamental key to the success of any business, and therefore, it was important for the beneficiaries to get to know one another beyond casual friends.
She urged them to discuss their business ideas among themselves, forge strategic friendships that will lead to more business collaborations after the 5-day AG-STUD Bootcamp.
“Make the most out of the 5-days here. Make strategic friendships and then continue from here,” she stressed.
Ms. Akosa made these comments at the opening ceremony of this year’s 6th Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue bootcamp (AG-STUD Africa), ongoing at the GNAT Hall in Accra.
She further encouraged the beneficiaries to learn as much as possible from the resource persons, and invest in the skills and talents, which is a good way to standout for employment and other lucrative opportunities.
“Now employers are looking beyond academic certificates, and seeking employ young people who show commitment, and passion and dedication towards their work,” she noted.
This year’s sixth Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue bootcamp (AG-STUD Africa Bootcamp), kicked-off on Monday, March 27, expected to end on Friday, March 31, 2023.
The 5-day bootcamp, is hosting about one hundred and twenty-five (125) students and beginner agribusinesses, on theme, “5 years of Grooming, Training and Empowerment: Where We Are Now with Our Agribusiness.”
Annually, the bootcamp mentors, coaches and trains the beneficiaries in several hands-on Capacity-Building sessions, aimed at equipping them to with knowledge and skills to establish sustainable agri-businesses in their schools and within their communities.
The bootcamp, also makes room for the students and agri-beginners to participate in Corporate and Field Tours, aimed at familiarizing them with different kinds of agribusiness operations in the country; to ask questions and striking business opportunities with the agribusiness owners.
