Agrihouse Foundation in partnership with the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, prepares to host the third edition of the Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards (GACA) with a standout addition to drive youth agribusiness through the “Input Dealership Capacity Building.”
The two-day event is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 5 to Wednesday May 6, 2026, under the theme “The Foundation of Bountiful Yield – The Pride of Harvest,” at the Bonokyempem Hall in Techiman.
This year’s event comes off with a strong emphasis on youth empowerment through agribusiness, with a dedicated focus on input dealership capacity building to usher and empower more young people into the agribusiness space.

The Youth in Input Dealership Capacity Building session aims at equipping young people with the practical skills and knowledge needed to establish and manage agricultural input businesses.
Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the event, the Executive Chair of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, described the initiative as a strategic intervention to drive both job creation and sector efficiency.
“By empowering young people to venture into input dealership, we are not only creating employment opportunities but also ensuring that farmers can easily access the inputs they need to improve productivity,” she said.

Through a structured training model and a revolving partnership approach, beneficiaries will receive guidance to set up and operate input dealer shops, positioning them as key players in supporting farmers within their communities.
The youth-centred initiative reflects a broader effort to make agriculture more attractive and viable for young people, shifting the focus from traditional farming to agribusiness opportunities along the value chain.
The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, underscored the significance of the initiative, noting that it aligns with efforts to strengthen the region’s position as a key agricultural hub.
He emphasised that improving access to inputs and empowering young people are critical to boosting productivity, creating jobs, and expanding agribusiness opportunities in the region.
Beyond the youth programme, GACA 2026 will feature a range of activities aimed at preparing farmers ahead of the planting season. These include farmer-to-buyer training sessions, crop clinics to diagnose plant health issues, exhibitions of agricultural technologies, and discounted sales of inputs.
The 3rd GACA is expected to serve as a pre-planting platform and a catalyst for long-term transformation within Ghana’s agricultural sector.
